Davao Food Appreciation Tour Day 1: Lachi’s Sans Rival atbp

People never fail to mention that Lachi’s is one of the most recommended places in Davao City when it comes to food. Even if I randomly ask people in my neighborhood, Lachi’s is still named as one of the most known restaurants in Davao because it is the best cake shop in the city that’s running for more than 10 years and I definitely agree with everyone who said that!

Before, I actually visited the place out of curiosity because even my friends were telling and convincing me that I should try eating there. As far as I can remember, I came two years ago (2015) for a family celebration but unfortunately, the restaurant was full so I ended up eating at another place that also serves delicious cakes and pastries located at Torres street. SAD LIFE. I really wanted to try their food since Lachi’s is on the top of the list of the best restaurants in Davao City. Until I’ve been invited to eat at Lachi’s for Davao Food Appreciation Tour 2017 and it’s all thanks to SMART!

Aside from eating glorious desserts, Lachi’s also serve home style cooked dishes and it deserves to be talked about too because they’re definitely remarkable based on my personal preference and not to mention, it’s also affordable.

Guys, I’m not saying that it’s good for me then it’s going to be the same for you too. Just sayin’ in case you’ll say that I’m wrong about this.

So before going to the desserts, of course, we should eat our meal first! In reality, there were a lot of dishes on the table which were exceptionally good but these two just stood out for me. Here are two of my favorite viands served during that night’s food tour.

DFAT 2017: Lachi's

I’m a huge fan of spicy food that’s why I really liked this Asian Spicy Chicken. I rarely eat pork these days but most people don’t really know that.

DFAT 2017: Lachi's

This is one of Lachi’s bestsellers and the most delicious among the dishes served that nignt. The beef is cooked to a very soft texture and the taste reminded me of the dishes made at home but a better version, of course. Again, I rarely eat pork that’s why I’m really particular with how beef is done because it’s going to be too chewy if it’s not well cooked.

Moving on to the highlight, it’s time for dessert! Since it was my first time eating at Lachi’s, I was so curious mainly because it was the talk of the town when it comes to the famous sans rival and variety of cheesecakes. Truly, these different kind of cakes could remove any bitterness in your life! Uhm, well, you know what I mean.

DFAT 2017: Lachi's

Compared to other known local cake brands or pangmasa brands, Lachi’s version of the San’s Rival is less sweeter but more buttery than the usual which makes it more appealing for me to eat. It’s neither bland/too buttery nor too sweet and neither hard to cut nor chew which makes it extraordinary. There’s also a durian version of this cake that I did not try because I was too full.

These are the cheesecakes that was really looking forward to eat to my heart’s content and it didn’t disappoint me. As a big fan of cheese, I can say that Lachi’s cheesecakes are a must-try. The sweetness is well balanced with the taste of cheese unlike several cheesecakes I tasted before which were mostly too sweet. You can also pick between strawberry, matcha, etc depending on your mood.

Below are the desserts I wasn’t able to try. Sorry for having small capacity stomach.

DFAT 2017: Lachi's

My goal was to try every cake because it was my first time eating there but I failed because I was too full to try everything out. The meal was too heavy for me to have one slice of cheesecake for dessert. So when you visit Lachi’s, be sure to have your stomach ready for a heavy meal and the yummiest desserts in town! Another reminder, come early because the place is full especially during peak hours.

Lachi’s Sans Rival atbp. is open 8-11pm Monday-Saturday, located at Ruby Street, Marfori Heights. You can also visit them on Facebook.

By the way, we used SMART LTE for our social media postings during the Davao Food Appreciation Tour which includes our posts on Facebook, Instagram, Instagram Stories, Twitter and Snapchat. We even tested the connection speed by playing videos on Youtube while we were eating at Lachi’s and I’m simply amazed that it didn’t buffer at all! With all honesty, I can say that it’s the fastest LTE connection in Davao since I’m using another network provider for my mobile data.

Truly, there’s a first time for everything, thanks to SMART!
