Days before The Nest’s grand opening last June 23, 2016, they hosted an Instagram contest for the VIP & Grand Opening Night and a Meet & Greet session with the “The Nest Squad.” I feel so lucky that was selected as one of the winners for their Instagram contest. Each winner was granted a pass for the grand opening night and a chance to meet & greet the top bloggers in our country.
The Nest consists of two stores; Maison de Bonbon and Giuseppe Pizzeria and Sicilian Roasts. They serve French & Italian dishes. I wasn’t able to take some photos for Giuseppe since the venue for the meet & greet was at Maison de Bonbon.
Here’s a peek of Maison de Bonbon’s neat and classy place. The interior gives off a relaxing cafe ambiance, so I say that it’s an excellent place to spend long hours of your vacant time. The white and pastel frames along the staircase are adorable and enticing to see. Not to mention, they also have a small function hall upstairs where we had our meet & greet. Sorry, I wasn’t able to take photos of their staircase and the second-floor area out of excitement.
Some photos of their decorations and food displayed at the counter.
Starting with the afternoon session, together with Camille Co, Laureen Uy, Vern & Verniece Enciso and Nicole Andersson (also known as “The Nest Squad”) along with the winners were able to ask them questions and tips about blogging. The fun part was we also had a casual talk and a photo opportunity with the top digital bloggers.
As I entered Maison de Bonbon and The Nest Squad were on the ground floor having their lunch. The funny thing was the waitress thought that I was with them. I saw Camille’s hair, and I quickly recognized her. She acknowledged me as her “hair twin.” I’m a huge fan of Camille and little did I know that we have the same hair color until I visited her Instagram account a few days ago before the meet & greet. I was planning some last minute changes, but there’s no time already to let my hair fade.
Going up to the second floor, I received my event invitation, and the other winners were there as well. I met new friends, and most of them are bloggers too.

These luxurious decorations and delicious treats are from Maison de Bonbon which was served during the meet & greet. My favorites among these are the mousse and the pistachio pizza.
I wasn’t able to take some photos for Giuseppe Pizzeria and Sicilian Roasts.
Mousse as my all-time favorite for dessert!
Below is the pistachio pizza that I mentioned earlier. It tastes good with the liver spread. If you’re going to visit the place, YOU MUST TRY THIS!

Vern & Verniece have similar styles. The difference is that Verniece has a youthful doll style while Vern has the older sister vibe among the two as being described by their co-bloggers. What caught my attention during that afternoon was Vern’s dress. Vern wore a stunning black lace dress with a coat covering her shoulders while Verniece wore a cute white off-shoulder dress.
All of them were pretty, very friendly and they also initiate the conversation most of the time.
INTERACTION AND PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
Photo op time! My interactions were mostly with Camille and Laureen. Of course, we were talking about our hair colors because that’s what we have in common. I told them that I used crepe paper to color my hair and they surprisingly showed interest in the process of crepe paper hair dyeing. They were curious and asked how I did it. Maybe I’m going to do a blog post on this method of dyeing your hair but with a twist not like the regular tutorial videos.
During the VIP & Grand Opening Night, they served sweets & drinks for the night. The party started introducing The Nest’s owner Henrik Yu who gave his opening remarks and later on introduced the Top Digital Bloggers.
James Tubeo hosted the fashion show by Gil Macaibay III and Nessalou Sabejon accompanied with DJ Jill & DJ Red’s music, Arthur Nery & Muriel Lumadilla also showcased their soothing and powerful voices during the unique fashion show.
Gil Macaibay’s collection for the night featured colorful pieces while their models rocked the runway with different dishes from The Nest.
